I am doing 2 challenges this year and both are raising money for Kidney Research UK. I have a very close friend who has a rare kidney disease and has already had one transplant 4 years ago. At the time she was told she would get at least 10 years from the kidney donated by her brother but is already back on dialysis as the disease has attacked the new kidney. She is now back to waiting on the transplant list.

 

The first task I am undertaking is the 3 Peaks challenge. I will be attempting to walk up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours. We are a very small team of friends obsessed with mountain walking and personal challenges! I will be starting this challenge at 5pm on Ben Nevis 15th May.

 

The second challenge is in some ways harder but without a time constraint it will probably be more enjoyable! I am trekking to Everest base camp in October/November. I should arrive at base camp on the 5th November.
