Charlie Campbell
Charlie Campbell was one Hamilton Camera Club’s regular members until recently when advancing years and declining health prevented him attending. He worked exclusively with slides and he was active participant in the monthly competitions and annual exhibitions.
He loved the countryside and the hills, particularly in Skye and the Lake District where he holidayed frequently, and it was through this passion for the outdoors that his interest in landscape photography emerged. Charlie’s talents were soon recognised by his local church and for a number of years and he regularly entertained the members with various slide shows of his travels.
Charlie was a tireless worker with the Scouts throughout his life and as a result he was well known and greatly respected in Larkhall, where he lived. His loss to Hamilton Camera Club and, in particular, to the Larkhall community will be immense.
